Progress isn't over-rated

Okay...since last I posted much has been accomplished.

Posts for the gate have been set.

A wedding has been hosted in the back patio area.

An A/C window unit has been wired and installed.

The enclosure for the living quarters access stairs has been framed, sheet-rocked, and a door hung.

The basement wall on the corner has been repointed and sealed. (Thanks Brandon and Malick)

And an access panel was cut in the upstairs ceiling and a cupola built to cover the roof access hatch.

Lots has been done.  Summer is a time when I can really get things done if i stay on task... and I have.

Can you dig it?

As mentioned earlier, the water line has ruptured like a middle-aged hernia. I've been digging it up a bit at a time. But since heavy rain was predicted, I covered the "ring of death" with a tarp and will wait for a later time.

This weekend I'll be meeting Lanelle and Patty in Dallas for a just for fun afternoon. I'll be with Charley part of the time, too. So even though this is boring for a blog, it's now out there in the electronic ether.

...and a bit alarming...

Okay- for the second time, one of our motion sensors has triggered an alarm with nobody around to set it off. Same sensor each time. So I have bypassed that one sensor and the security company is sending a guy to check it tomorrow. I could just see getting a false alarm while I'm out of town and can't check it personally. The city will charge an arm, a leg, and three fingers for too many false alarms.

And by the way- when I went down to check said alarm malfunction, the eastern walls and the refrigerator were dripping water. I checked...no leak; it was just room sweat I guess. Really? It just doesn't seem right.
